Zac Adcox

Hey guys,
A lot of people have asked me who the guy singing with me on "Long Haired Country Boy" is so I'm going to tell you. His name was Zac Adcox. He was a Texas Music/Red Dirt singer/songwriter and one of my very best friends.
I met Zac when he moved to Houston from Oklahoma to sing with a band who were also my friends. We started hanging out and became good friends. Zac had a lot of stage presence and wrote a lot of good songs. Eventually, he and the band decided to go their separate ways, but remained friends.
He had plenty of songs ready for an album and I was going to record and produce it. I was working on mine at the same time and thought that it would be cool if we did a song together and put it on both albums. We decided on "Long Haired Country Boy" by Charlie Daniels, with a Texas Music/Zeppelin kinda' vibe. We had a lot of fun recording it and were both happy with the result.
Unfortunately, Zac went back to Oklahoma soon after we finished it and was killed in a motorcycle wreck. October 29th of this year will be the one year anniversary. I'm really glad that we got to do this song together. He is and always will be missed.
